(2002-2004) Economic Growth and Basic Education Training for Two task orders with the USAID/Zambia Mission provide
administration, support and follow-on activities for academic trainees and
short-term technical training for trainees in the fields of economic growth,
basic education, democracy building, child health, reproductive health, and
HIV/AIDs interventions. The first task
order was awarded in
2002 and will end in March 2004. Training plans for the
second task order are currently being developed with the initial training to
include eight
short-term trainees, two study tours and four long-term participants. AED will assist USAID/Zambia in implementing its training
program to effectively and efficiently support the achievement of its
strategic objectives. To do this, AED
is to administer all of the participant training programs funded by the Mission’s
on-going and planned technical assistance activities, and to design and
implement post-training follow- on programs to assist the trainees to
demonstrate leadership and apply their new technical skills to improve
performance of their respective organizational units and sectors, as well as
their communities at large. Training is funded by the different Strategic Objectives
(SOs), and consists of (1) US Long-term Academic training, (2) US Short-term
Technical training. ·
